Privacy policy
The short version
Countdown collects no data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your events are kept on your devices and in your own iCloud, where only you can read them.
What the app stores, and where
- The app stores what you give it: each event's name, date, icon, color and reminder choices.
- All of it is kept on your device.
- If you are signed in to iCloud, it is also kept in your private iCloud database, so that your other devices show the same events. That database belongs to your Apple Account. Jack Isherwood, who makes Countdown, cannot read it.
- Apple runs iCloud under its own privacy policy.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing about them is sent to a server of ours, because there is none. When another of your devices changes something, iCloud signals the app to fetch it. That signal comes from Apple.
What is collected
- Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code.
- If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple sends the developer crash reports and usage totals. They do not identify you.
- If you email support, your address and your message are used to answer you, and for nothing else.
Deleting your data
- Deleting an event in the app removes it from your devices and from your iCloud.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device.
- To remove the copy in iCloud, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and delete Countdown's data under storage.
